An Edwardian Mahogany Framed Armchair By Morison & Co. Edinburgh C.1900

For recovering, with original silk-satin ticking to the back and arms, the frame is structurally very solid. Raised on carved mahogany legs terminating in brass castors, the back leg with impressed maker''s stamp.
 
Morison & Co. were regarded as one of the very best cabinet makers in Scotland. They supplied furniture to country houses throughout the country including Newbattle Abbey for the Marquis of Lothian, Blairquan (in Ayrshire where the company was originally founded), and Scone Palace. The most extensive collection of furniture by Moriaosn & Co. is held at Lauriston Castle, Edinburgh.
