Description:
Antique English pewter charger of 18 3/16 inch diameter with cast and incised rim, there would appear to be a single cast rim with two incised lines inside of this. The surface of the bowl and rim is hammered all over as was typical of items made for export especially to Sweden. There is a set of rubbed hallmarks to the rim, the fourth hall mark contains the makers initials. To the rear of the rim are two touchmarks, the word ''London'' can be made out along with a ''rose and crown''. The back rim also has some ownership initials scratched and punch engraved to include ''BJM'', ''NB'' and ''MT''.
Condition:
The plate is in fair condition with a polished finish to the front, with traces of oxide in some of the hammer marks. The reverse is also lightly polished with some light oxide.
Repairs: There are numerous old repairs especially on the revers where the rim joins the booge.
Size: 18.187 inch diameter (46.20cm). The rim width is 2.750 inch (6.80cm) 29.50%.
