Description

A Georgian Somerset mahogany longcase clock. A swan-neck hood pediment with brass finial and patterae. Brass capped hood columns. Satinwood inlays to the slim, well proportioned case. A well painted arched dial with the corners depicting the four seasons. A seconds dial and date aperture. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

James Webb of Frome is documented in A J Moores' 'Somerset Clockmakers' book. He worked from 1785-1821.

Height 7ft 3" / 221cms.
