Victorian Rosewood Writing Box With Exceptional Inlay. A truly Exceptional example of a Victorian rosewood writing box dating back to c.1840. The box features a wonderfully elaborate and detailed inlaid brass, copper, abalone, mother of pearl design to the top and front of the box with brass wiggle work. The box is complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key. Open the box to reveal a red releathered writing surface, original pen slope with section underneath, a nib slope, inkwell section with glass inkwell. Open the back of the inside lid to see space for paperwork. There is also space underneath the writing slope for more paperwork. Superb quality and condition measuring 30 x 23.5 and stands 13cm high.
