Description

A fantastic solid silver brooch designed by Arno Malinowski for the iconic Danish silversmithing firm Georg Jensen. The piece is substantial, with crisply etched lines and of the superb quality and elegant design for which the Jensen workshop is known. Malinowski and Jensen worked together from 1936 to 1944 and again between 1949 and 1965; this brooch was likely produced in the 1950s or early 60s.

The design - known as Moonlight Blossoms or just The Butterfly Brooch - is a well known one and its number, 283, is stamped on the back alongside the marks of the Jensen company and 925S for sterling silver.

The brooch is in excellent vintage condition and fixes with a secure rollover clasp.

Size: approx 5.5cm diameter.
