Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The two flaps fold down and the lopers fold away significantly reducing its size and impact. The whole top is supported on two mahogany pillars, one to each side, with a turned x-stretcher to provide strength. Each pillar in turn splits into two fluted mahogany legs, which taper, terminating in four original brass claw feet, complete with brass castors.
