Victorian Oil Portrait Young Lady by J.a. Mccolvin Circa 1895

Description

Fine late Victorian oil on artist's board of full length portrait of young lady carrying a basket of flowers signed by James Andrew McColvin 1864-1920 contained in its original gilt frame. All fine condition with no damage or over-painting. The artist was born near Durham and worked most of his life in Newcastle, latterly moving to London in 1909. He did not exhibit. This is a very typical example of his work depicting young ladies in various poses. SEE OTHER SIMILAR PAINTINGS BY SAME ARTIST LISTED ON MY SITE.
