Description

A George V era silver top ebonised hardwood walking cane or stick. The silver pommel bears clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1925 and makers mark for J. Howell & Co Ltd. The silver pommel has a spiral turned neck above which is a lightly engraved foliage and swag design. The condition of the silver pommel is good with no holes or tears but there are a few little dents. Obviously this cane was used by its owner. It has a hardwood ebonised shaft and a good brass tip. This item was typically part of a gentleman’s evening attire, to accompany black or white tie jacket or tails and a white silk fringed scarf. Strong and straight, it is still an elegant walking cane.
