Beautifully decorated with hand painting, Mother of Pearl inlay and gilding.
The Peacock on the other side is painted in-flight.

There is a tiny silver mount to the lid with an old engraved decorative monogram. The hinge is unusual being inset to the papier mache on the outside. The hinge is stable and in excellent shape and the interior edges are trimmed in Ivory.
An excellent example is superb condition, measuring 4 1/4" x 2 3/4".
