Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian window seats are low, horizontal seating forms designed to fit beneath window sills or along entryways, often incorporating detailed woodwork influenced by Gothic and Renaissance Revival styles.

Most 19th-century benches were crafted from solid hardwoods such as English oak, mahogany, or walnut, featuring traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery and hand-carved relief detailing.

Authentic mid-Victorian oak pieces typically exhibit hand-carved decorative motifs, natural wood shrinkage around joinery, hand-poured iron or steel fasteners, and irregular surface patination consistent with age.

A carved oak bench can be positioned in an entryway, bay window, or hallway, paired alongside neutral stone walls or modern linen textiles to create architectural contrast.

Maintain antique oak by dusting regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and applying a natural beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish and maintain the timber.
