Japanese vintage (Showa) large hanging carved & stained double-sided wooden plaque. One side (depicting a samurai helmet) celebrates Boys Day (May 5th), known as ‘Tango no Sekku’, the other Girls Day (March 3rd), known as ‘Hina Matsuri’, with an image of a pair of standing dolls known as Tachi-bina. The plaque measures 39cm in diameter by 1.5cm and is fitted with a hanging cord.
Lovely condition and patina.
