Antique Bronze Pen Tray " Mouse in an Ear of Corn " C.1900

Description

A really charming tray, I have labelled it as a pen tray as it would have been the perfect size for a fine traditional dip pen so I am sure that this was it's purpose 110 or so years ago.

It is made from solid cast bronze with a good weight associated with this metal. I date to around 1900 and suspect English but possibly French in origin and a the edge decorated with stylized flowers giving it a clear Art Nouveau design.

The charming little mouse is munching away one end of the Ear of Corn creating a magical desk accessory. Excellent condition, measuring 7 1/2" in length.
