Description

A medium coloured 18th Century Oak Coffer or Dower Chest

This Chest is a large piece it is made throughout from solid oak, it has a three panelled front, the back and sides have one panel and it has a 2 plank solid oak top with chamfered corners at the front

The chest has a candle box inside and there has been an extra hinge added to support a weak one but although not original this is a, 18th Century hinge and seems to have been there for many years

The chest is in good condition, there is some marking on the top but this is to be expected, no evidence of woodworm or any serious faults

The coffer is 49’’ long 21’’ deep and 25’’ high.
