Pair of Lefco Salt Glazed Garden Urn Planters

Description

A Rare Pair of LEFCO (Leeds Fireclay Company Ltd) Salt Glazed Garden Urn Planters with their original plinths. The beautiful Victorian stoneware salt glazed garden urns finished in a glazed taupe. Manufactured in the late 1800's. Always nice to find an original pair with their plinths. With their wonderful colour and glaze they will look resplendent when planted up! The urn and pedestal separate from the pedestal for transportation.

The Leeds Fire Clay Company manufactured brick, tiles and buff terracotta architectural terracotta. From 1880 they also made art pottery vases and decorative items for the home. In the late 1880's they merged with other Yorkshire companies to found The Leeds Fireclay Co. Ltd. which of one of the largest in the country.
