Two Delft Blue & White Powder Manganese Ground Tiles Circa 1740

Description

Two Delft blue and white tiles with powder manganese ground, mid 18th century. One decorated with a fisherman beside a river bridge within a petal shaped reserve and powder manganese ground and corner spandrels, the tile with an octagonal reserve of a house beside a riverbank wth boats within a powder manganse ground with conrer spandrels.

The first tile 13cm x 13cm with some surface pitting, a small amount of restoraton to the borner on top left side and some traces of glue. The second tile 13.2cm x 13.2cm with surface glaze pitting, chgip to the bottom left and edge chipping typical of Delft tiles,
