Description

A large pair of 17th century Flemish panels. Finely carved from oak ,one of the panels depicts an attack on a town, with a man being beaten in the centre, and houses and soldiers in the distance. The other panel depicting the aftermath with a person caring for the injured. Both scenes are bordered by a elaborately carved frame with curled scrolls.

The panels have some original traces of polychrome paint and have a couple of losses to the carving commensurate with age. Overall they are in excellent condition and have a lovely untouched natural patina, both having a slight variation in size.
