~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A rare and spectacular antique French bracket clock. Finely modelled in the Louis XIV style in silver plated bronze. Beautifully proportioned with an glazed arched door with a cherub mount, cantered corners with finely modelled goddess caryatids sitting on bold, scrolling, acanthus feet. The sides are glazed with arched openings allowing the silver pendulum to be seen swinging inside.

The bell top has scrolling supports and is surmounted by a flaming urn on tri-feet. The base sits upon scrolled feet with a tasseled fringe. The dial is silver plated bronze, decorated with cherubs in a sunray sky and is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands.

The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti. It is the large, square plated version of the Pendule de Paris movement. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Silver plated pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a large bell mounted underneath the removable top. We have a video of the clock running, please ask and we will send it to you.

Condition of the case is excellent, silver plating is bright and clean with minor areas of discolouration. It has been lacquered to avoid tarnishing. Dial is also very good with restoration next to the winding holes which is slightly discoloured.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
