N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This stunning antique mantel clock has a beautiful gilt bronze case with an arched body.
The front of the case then has an intricately shaped mount depicting two griffins as well as a harp to each side. There is then a shaped, gilt bronze moulding dividing the body of the case and the rectangular base. Finally the clock is finished by four lovely shaped feet.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashes marking the minutes and every fifteen minutes being marked in Arabic numerals. The centre of the dial is then signed by the famous maker “Le Roy br de Madamel A PARIS”. Finally the dial is finished by two shaped hands as well as an intricately patterned bezel.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back and comes complete with its pendulum and winding key. The movement then strikes both the number of hours on the hour as well as once on the half past via a bell. The movement is then a silk suspension example of the upmost quality.

10.75” / 27.5cm Tall.
5” / 13cm Wide.
4” / 10cm Deep.
