Description

A really lovely book.

The outside is covered in a wonderful velvet, showing signs of wear commensurate with age and use. The metal work including the fastening are all in good order, and it fastens well.

The edges of the pages are all gold with a wonderful embossed decoration, together with coloured scroll decoration. The inside front and back cover are lined in silk and velvet which is also in good order.

The book is actually dated 1840 but was given as a gift in 1891. Throughout the book are super coloured panels.

There is a small issue with the spine inside, which I am sure an be rectified.
