Antique Treen 19thc Burr Boxwood Pocket Nutcracker. French C1800-20.

A very fine example of this type of ''pocket'' screw nutcracker....it has been made from burr boxwood...(one of my favourite woods)....it is of the type often made by the french maker''Souan'', although this one has no makers mark.....it is in excellent condition with a superb colour.
French. C1800-20. Provenance of the Brian Hawtin collection.
