Description

This fabulous and very stylish silver mounted square glass inkwell is dated Birmingham 1911. Bearing the marks of the illustrious Mappin & Webb, it is unusual and rather elegant. The silver hinged lid decorated with concentric decorations and having a dark blue enamel border. The fully hallmarked neck mounted on a square glass base.

Hallmarks:

Mn&Wb for Mappin & Webb.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "m" for 1911.

Condition:

The glass is in very good condition, no chips, no crack.

The enamel is in pristine condition.

The silver lid is in very good condition.

The hinge is good and strong.

Dimensions:

Height: 5cm / 2 inches.

Base: 5cm x 5cm - 2 inches x 2 inches
