Antique Georgian Demi Lune Mahogany Fold Over Table

A fantastic condition original Demi Lune from the Regency Period

We are delighted to bring to you this fine example of a very rare Georgian (circa 1820) solid Mahogany fold over Demi Lune side table which is completely original and ideal for any period property. This lovely table is in a fine original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically restoring this table preserving the lovely lightly faded rich Mahogany colour and original wax polished finish. The top of this table folds over on its original polished brass hinges to reveal a larger round polished table surface which rests on a rear legs that both fold out on finger joints. We love the tops which are reeded edged and still shows some of its original hand planing marks which is all complemented by its simple Boxwood inlays around the top face. The table features typical Georgian slightly tapering legs with scratch moulded front faces which complement its Demi-lune form.

There is no movement or play in the joints as the table is being normally used, the tops are flat with no bowing or twisting and smoothly folds over. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having a fold-over top managing to comfortably seat 2 chairs for use as a tea table or even a breakfast table.

This table has just been carefully cleaned and waxed, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there. The table has had some historic repairs in the past but is all solid and ready to use. We feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
