N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This stunning miniature grandfather clock has a mahogany case with a lovely shaped design.
The centre of the case then has a shaped viewing window so that the pendulum can be seen ticking back and fourth. The base of the case then has an inlaid ormolu panel framed by mahogany mouldings. Finally the clack sits on four scrolling ormolu feet which set it off beautifully.
The dial is then enamel and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dots marking the minutes and every five minutes being marked in Arabic numerals. The dial then has two wonderfully shaped hands as well as a domed and bevelled glass set into a brass bezel.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away as it should and comes complete with its winding key and beautifully shaped, regulating pendulum. The movement is then stamped “PARIS” and can be viewed via the brass back door to the top.
It measures approximately:
19.5” / 49.5cm Tall.
6” / 15.25cm Wide.
4.5” / 11.5cm Deep.
