Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The drawers have their original attractive drop handles and it stands on slim tapered square legs which terminate in brass and ceramic casters. A really stylish and useful item that would make a great music cabinet, collectors chest, hall unit or filing cabinet. The drop down drawers have a very unusual design with brass hinges halfway down, each drawer stamped “PROTECTED”.
