The leather writing surface slides forwards to reveal a rising stationery compartment at the back, consisting of letter racks and inkwells. The metamorphic writing desk has a single fitted drawer to the front with decorative brass handles. Raised on four square tapering legs. A good quality piece of antique furniture, formerly used in Fishbourne Post Office.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches to the sides (pictured), and a minor split to the surface top (pictured). The antique metamorphic writing desk remains structurally solid and sound, with the mechanism working well. Overall, a neat example.
