This is a large antique ornamental planter. An English, heavy enamelled cast iron jardiniere, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Graced with bold form and of generous size, influenced by the exuberance of the Great Exhibition

Displays a desirable aged patina throughout

Enamelled body shows superb weathering with a palette of pink-blue hues

Impressive weight at a substantial 21.7kg (47.8 lb)

Flared rim meets the striking scrolled arms, branching from two arms into one large mount
