Vintage 1961 Ruby Star Gold Bangle by Cropp & Farr

1940 - 1960
Description

A stunning vintage nine-carat gold hinged bangle with beautifully detailed engine-turned decoration all the way around and seven deep magenta rubies in star engraved settings along the front.

The bracelet is overall in excellent vintage condition; there is a very tiny dink on the narrow top/bottom edge. The hinge and clasp are in good working order and there is a safety chain for additional security.

Fully hallmarked for nine-carat gold, Chester 1961, and bearing the C&F mark denoting Cropp & Farr - a London-based jewellery company which was founded in 1917 and went on to make a name for themselves among collectors thanks to the exceptional quality of their pieces. Textured gold and bright gemstones are typical of their eyecatching designs.

Interesting factoid: Chester Assay Office closed its doors in August 1962 and as the hallmarking year at Chester ran from 1 July to 30 June this is among the last pieces to be stamped with a Chester hallmark.

Size: Approximately 2cm wide.

Weight: 34.4g.

Internal circumference: Approx 6¾ inches.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
