An exceptional Regency tea table in a stunning restored condition.

We are delighted to bring to you this outstanding Regency fold over tea table believed to be made around C1830. This beautiful regency table is in almost flawless condition with its stunning highly polished French polished finish and rich Mahogany colour with original patina and charm. This table has undergone a full yet sympathetic restoration including stripping and re French polishing this table, whilst maintaining its original character.

The top of this table slides over on an offset pivot to reveal its original blue paper lined storage compartment before folding over to the double size book-matched Mahogany polished table surface. To the underside of the top features a figured Mahogany frieze with 4 carved rosettas and a beaded edge to the underside.

This stunning tabletop is supported on its cylindrical pillar descending to turned moulded collar which connects to its substantial quadraform base. The quadraform base features bobbin quadrant beading to the edge with a beaded lower edge finishing to its 4 elegant scrolled feet with 8 carved floral rosettas to each side.

There is no movement or play in any of the joints as the table is being normally used, the top is flat with no bowing or twisting and smoothly turns and folds over. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having a fold-over top managing to accommodate up to 4 chairs for use as a card or games table.

Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there. The table has some old splitting to the underside table surface due to timber movement but is not loose or too noticeable. However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
