Description

This is a very pretty frame, unusual design.

The inner silver frame is under the glass surrounded by the original velvet.

Good marks to the inside frame and the outer frame for William Comyns and Sons 1901.

The back of the frame has been recovered as the original cover was apparently in tatters. I have not done this “restoration”. I understand that the edges of the frame around the edges and above the backing under the black covering are oak. The back has been remade.

Having pointed all this out it is still a rare design of frame and the quality you would expect from William Comyns.
