Large Original Mid Century Abstract Oil Painting By William Ernst Burwell, Frsa - Water Symphony

£2,650    $3,373    €3,134
A stunning midcentury abstract oil on board by the listed artist William Ernst Burwell (1911-1974). It is entitled 'Water Symphony' and is beautifully painted with heavily applied textures of predominantly blues. It is in its original gallery frame of painted softwood and has the artists label to the reverse. We have obtained several of the artists works from his studio. Condition is very good, the original frame has bumped corners and some marks but is generally good.
The painter and stage designer William Ernst Burwell, FRSA was born in Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire. He studied at Hull College of Art and Brighton School of Art and showed at the RA, NEAC and elsewhere in Britain and overseas.
