A stunning, beautifully carved Elizabethan Revival Victorian oak partners desk attributed to Edwards & Roberts of London. The rectangular top with a foliate carved edge and gilt embossed brown faux leather writing surface above a carved frieze. One side with nine variously sized drawers with Green Man handles and flanked by roaring lions and trailing fruits; the opposing side with three drawers above cupboard doors featuring superbly carved rams heads panels, all standing on plinth bases with foliate carving to match the top and carved and panelled sides.In good solid condition with marks and signs of use consistent with age, mainly to the plinths and the edges of the top where some areas of filler can be seen, the faux leather writing fabric has some light patches in it and fading from use but no tears.
