A lovely example of a Victorian Scottish pebble brooch, with polished agate slices inlaid into sterling silver.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria from the mid 1800s when she and Prince Albert frequently visited Scotland and her Scottish castle Balmoral. She loved all things Scottish and spent much time in the Highlands and Cairngorm mountains where these Scottish pebble stones were collected.

The brooch is in very good vintage condition and fixes with a simple C clasp.

Size: Approx 2.8cm diameter.
