Antique George III Oak Bureau

A charming and impressive antique George III antique oak bureau. The antique oak bureau has a fall front that opens to reveal a brown leather writing surface with fitted interior, consisting of a central compartment surrounded by an arrangement of eighteen pigeon holes and seven drawers. To the front of the antique oak bureau are two narrow drawers that also act as supports for the fall front, over three long graduating drawers, each with decorative brass backplates and drop handles. The Georgian bureau is raised on bracket feet.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches, stains and marks to the interior compartments and leather (pictured), further scratches and marks to the drawer fronts (pictured) and stains to the top (pictured). There are some honest repairs to one of the feet (pictured), and the top (pictured), also losses to the fall front veneer (pictured). One of the sides has some shrinkage (pictured). The antique oak bureau remains structurally solid and sound, with the drawers running well. Overall, a well proportioned example.
