Mahogany Side Cabinet C.1880

19th century
Description

Very useful late 19th.c. mahogany side cabinet or office bookcase c.1880. Two door cupboard fitted inside with two adjustable shelves (depth 13½"). Solid mahogany top with a deep thumb moulded edge. Nicely figured veneers to the front, the long door panels with raised ogee mouldings. Brass door knobs and a simple moulded detail toward the bottom of the doors and continued on the sides of the cabinet. Solid mahogany sides and groundwork to the doors. Raised on a moulded plinth. Previous repairs and restorations and some marks to the top. Otherwise very good colour and condition, solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
