Regency Overmantel Mirror

19th century
Description

A Regency giltwood and gesso landscape overmantel mirror with a moulded cornice of recessed broken outline with ball ornament. The mirror has a classical processional frieze with centurion in a two wheeled chariot drawn by lions with trumpeting angels above. The divided bevelled mirror is flanked by reeded half columns with Corinthian capitals.
