A Fine 18th Century Comb Back Windsor Chair.

Description

A fine 18th century comb back Windsor chair, constructed from walnut, fruitwood and elm, with traces of original red paint.

The thick elm saddle seat supported by heavy duty legs - joined by a turned H- form stretcher. The shaped arm supports join the bentwood walnut arms to the seat, with the spindles running through the back of the arms and terminating into a shaped fruitwood crest rail.

The chair has had some old restorations to the tips of the legs, which is common with chairs of this age. Overall the Windsor is strong and sturdy and is in excellent condition.
