Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The chest stands on bracket shaped feet, the base section has two long drawers and the upper section is the normal two short over three longer graduated drawers. The top of the piece is set off with an elegant moulded cornice

The drawers are cock beaded as you would expect, the handles and escutcheons are in pierced brass
The chest has a wonderful patina, there have been a few very minor repairs over the years but they are very well done and difficult to spot. There is a small piece of wood missing at the back on the left hand side but it is hard to see

A superb piece of Country House Chic and it is not too tall and would look superb in a country cottage
The chest stands 64” high it is 36” wide and 21” deep
