Oil Portrait Young Lady by J.a.mccolvin Circa 1895

Description

Fine late Victorian oil on canvas of three quarter length portrait of young lady carrying tray with glass of ale and pitcher signed by James Andrew McColvin 1864-1920 contained in its original double swept gilt frame. All in fine condition with no damage to canvas or over-painting. The artist was born near Durham and worked most of his life in Newcastle, latterly moving to London in 1909. He did not exhibit. This is a very typical example of his work depicting young ladies in various poses. SEE ANOTHER SIMILAR SMALLER PAINTING BY SAME ARTIST LISTED ON MY SITE
