This is an antique campaign correspondence box. An Indian, rosewood and Sadeli mosaic colonial writing case, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

Delightfully attractive box, with copious details and quality finishes

Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order

Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues

Sadeli micro mosaic accentuates the lid and interior

Diamond motif to lid a treat of craftsmanship - Sadeli work uses tiny pieces of mosaic to form patterns

A large expanse covers the lid interior, to striking effect

Diamond lozenge with inset, brass lined lock — in working order, key present

Superb brass drop handles with distinctive beaded circular backplates
