Description

Antique Kays pocket watch in super condition.

The watch has a good quality 15-jewel Swiss stem-winding movement by Revue which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover. Kays bought in watches such as this one to be labelled and sold under their own name.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it is in super condition.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in super condition with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

William Kay set up Kays of Worcester in 1890. Customers bought items from handbills in a folder and initially the goods on offer were limited to jewellery, watches, clocks and household items. Eventually William’s son Jack took over the running of the business. The company continued to expand and trade successfully, becoming one of Worcester’s largest employers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
