A Decorated Cambridge University Boat Club Rudder - Queens College - Lent Bumps 1946

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Culvertons

This Cambridge University Boat Club rudder was decorated to celebrate Queens'' College eight man team who competed in the Lent Bumps in 1946 - a highly decorative and evocative piece. It remains in fresh and vibrant condition - as you can see, it''s original construction did not allow for shrinkage, so the timber has marginally separated in two places, however, in our opinion, it is part and parcel of its historic appeal. We had the hanging bracket designed and made, so it can be easily displayed and enjoyed.
