Description

This stunning 2 piece silver plated teapot which is by renowned silversmith James Dixon & Sons is marked to the base with it's registered design number of 533068 which dates to 1909.

This rare teapot which is in the shape of a melon has a detachable lid and is part of James Dixon's Simple Yet Perfect range. These teapots have a unique design so they can be turned onto their side supports to brew the pot of tea and then turned back to pour by holding the top handle.

A wonderful and rare design that would make a great addition to a teapot collection.

Material: Silver plate.

Date: 1909.

Maker: James Dixon & Sons.

Marked: Rd. No. 533068. James Dixon & Sons. Sheffield. Trumpet mark. EPBM. Patent Trade SYP Mark. No 5.

Dimensions: 18 cm (7") Length including spout. 11 cm (4 1/4") Width. 17 cm (6 1/2") Height to top of handle.

Weight: 540 g.

Condition: Very good antique condition with some signs of use in keeping with age. Some light surface scratches, small marks and some wear to the silver plate. The inside is in good clean condition.
