17thc Oak & Country Chair Cresting Rail Carved With A Dodo Bird. English. C1640-60.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A very good early 17thc Oak carving from the cresting rail of a Wainscot Chair....what makes this carving very special is that the carving is of what looks like a Dodo bird, which of course is now extinct....the carving has great depth and really comes to life when it is hung with the bird perched upright.....very good colour & condition.

English. C1640-60.
