For sale this exceptionally fine large, signed Edith Isobel Barrow watercolour of a Cornish harbour scene, either Polperro or Fowey dating circa 1910. Delicately executed in muted colours showing her expertise as an artist capturing all the essence of a long time past, way of life. The painting is in excellent original condition with only one or two very minor foxing spots. A large painting measuring 44cm by 63m without frame and 52cm by 71cm framed and glazed. Edith Isobel Barrow is a noted artist of some distinction.
Edith Isabel Barrow (1865-1930)
Noted as a Landscape and Flower painter. She studied with a scholarship at the Goldsmiths Institute, South Kensington and awarded silver and bronze medals. She lived at Coombe Martin Devon, exhibiting at the Royal Academy from 1907 to 1926
