Description

A French brass cased bell striking carriage clock. A brass case with an enamel dial with Roman numerals and 'moon' blued steel hands. Signed to the dial by retailer 'John Walker The Strand London'. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a bell. A lever escapement. An earlier example with a sound fretted base and numbered 2565. Circa 1875.
