Victorian Walnut Davenport Desk

A neat Victorian antique walnut Davenport desk. The antique Davenport desk has a sloped green leather writing surface, which opens to reveal a fitted interior, consisting of a central single drawer flanked by two pigeonholes (the two drawers above are fixed and don’t open). To the top of the antique Davenport desk is a tiered gallery back, which opens to reveal a small compartment. To the right-hand side is a bank of four fitted drawers, each with two small wooden knobs (the left-hand side being dummy drawers). The antique Davenport desk has decorative carved front corbels and is raised on four castors.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and stains to the top (pictured). There are some chips and losses to the veneer (pictured). The antique Davenport desk remains structurally solid and sound, with the compartments working well. Overall, a good example of its kind. Our carpenter inspects, repairs, and restores our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is ready for your home!
