Description

A fine pair of Edwardian silver dwarf candlestick with clear hallmarks on each candlestick for Sheffield 1903 and makers mark for Walter Latham & Sons.

The candlesticks have a classical urn shape standing on a wide square base with chamfered corners. They are fitted with detachable sconces with beaded rims. The urns are decorated with a raised design of swags and a garland above a design of quill feathers surrounding the urn. The bases are decorated with inset acanthus leaf shapes at the corners, with lidded urns in the central panels, all surrounded by a beaded rim. The bases are felt covered underneath.

These are a very pleasing and elegant pair, in very good condition, no dents or holes, and they have been well cared for.
