Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sporting prints were widely produced in eighteenth and nineteenth-century Britain to document contemporary games, pastimes, and social satire. Published by notable printmakers, these works captured early versions of modern sports prior to standardized rules, offering valuable historical evidence of social culture.

An artist first etched or engraved the design onto a copper or steel plate, which was ink-printed onto paper. Specialist colorists then applied watercolours by hand to individual areas of the printed image, rendering each impression distinct.

Authentic period engravings typically display an indented plate mark around the image perimeter created by the pressure of the printing press. Additionally, original prints feature period paper with natural chain lines, publisher publication lines, and genuine hand-applied watercolour pigments rather than uniform halftone dot patterns.

Sporting prints are frequently incorporated into gallery walls, study displays, or paired with dark timber paneling and brass picture lights. They provide historical texture and subject-specific interest when set against contemporary neutral backdrops.

Paper artworks should be mounted using acid-free mat board and kept behind UV-filtering glass to prevent yellowing and pigment fading. Display prints away from direct sunlight, radiators, and areas with high humidity fluctuation.
