Description

This is a superb and very elegant Mid-Century solid silver playing cards box. Of rectangular form, the with a flat hinged cover engraved with fine engine-turned decorations surrounding a vacant cartouche. Raised on four splayed bracket feet, the interior lined with wood and complete with a set of Bridge playing cards. The base lined with Black Morroco leather.

Hallmarks:

Maker's mark partially erased and indistinct.

Date letter "A" for 1950.

Condition:

Good.

Strong hinge.

Minor surface scratches to the engine turned decorations, commensurate with age.
