Country Homes Antiques Stirling has dated this piece to the 1920s.
This work is indistinguishable from a Bouvard Venice painting. A truly impressive works.

Illegibly signed bottom left.
To the best of our knowledge though he was not known to use pseudonyms during his Venice period, every Bouvard Venice painting we have seen, prior to this he signed Bouvard. So this is listed as attributed to (Unconfirmed Bouvard). This painting screams of a Venice Bouvard, quality, colours, hue and touch. Had this painting been signed Bouvard, we would not doubt its authenticity at all, it's simply that good. We in fact feel confident to attribute it to Antoine Bouvard. But the pseudo name reflects the price. Half price of a signed "Bouvard" work for the same composition.

If its the quality you seek and you don't think the signature is worth the extra £4-5000 on top. This is the Bouvard for you.
Condition. Very good.
Size; 46cms x 61cms.
PS, this is also the exact canvas size of some other Bouvard Venice Grand canal scenes.
